2020 Ford Explorer

Standard Equipment & Features

The base trim of the Ford Explorer is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that manages a convenient 300 horsepower and 310 foot-pounds of torque. All models come paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Wondering about the drivetrain configuration? The base Ford Explorer XLT touts standard rear-wheel drive with an available four-wheel drive upgrade. Moving to the interior of the Explorer, the XLT trim includes an air filtration system, tri-zone electronic temperature control, and intelligent access with push-button start. Interior tech features available to Douglas drivers include a Sync infotainment system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, dual second-row smart charging USB ports, a six-speaker audio system, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Baxley drivers interested in internet access while on the road can look forward to an available FordPass Connect 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Safety features, those ever-important aspects of any vehicle, come in spades with the Ford Explorer XLT. The Explorer touts a robust set of standard features, including AdvanceTrac with roll stability control, lower anchors and tether anchors for children, an SOS post-crash alert system, and traction control. Other safety features take the form of driver assistance features.

The Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of features offers Vidalia drivers a host of driver assistance features. The Ford Co-Pilto360 suite includes forward collision warning and dynamic brake support, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a blind-spot system with cross-traffic alert, a lane-keeping system, automatic headlights with automatic highbeams, and a rearview camera.

Power & Performance

Excluding the hybrid version of the Explorer offers drivers three engine options. The base engine is a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, the middle engine variant is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, and the most powerful engine is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine available with the ST trim. Regardless of the engine chosen, Whitecross drivers can look forward to a ten-speed automatic transmission.
